In just under two weeks, two of my prints titled "Boston Marathon" sold to two different admirers in Massachusetts. While I am grateful for the sales, I know they probably came as a result of the recent tragedy, which makes me sad all over again. But if I can help the good people of MA capture and cherish the happy memories and significant history of the Boston Marathon, I will gladly do so.
BOSTON STRONG!

With only a couple days left of my exhibit, I sold 2 matted prints to a lovely Michigan couple! They loved Decrepit and Log Cabin so much, they took them home with them - YAY!
The best part? I got to meet them personally because I just happened to be at the Tasting Room dropping something off! We had a great conversation about Michigan landscapes, and they even gave me more ideas for shooting locations. It was a win-win!!!

Michigan resident Vickie Owens purchased 2 of my canvases tonight at Michigan By The Bottle Tasting Room! YAY!
"Sunset Over Burt" and "Crossing Over" have officially left the building for greener pastures!
Special thanks to Ms. Owens for appreciating my work enough to want to look at it every day!!!
I am so happy right now! :)

Artist of the Month revels in rural, rustic side of Michigan
By Cortney Casey
C & G Staff Writer
Sheryl Burns knows exactly what her dream house looks like.
“I want one that’s peeling paint,” she said, her voice impassioned, “and has rusty nails sticking out.”
The Sterling Heights Artist of the Month for November is talking photography subjects, not future abodes of her own. And when it comes to what captures her attention, it’s the more askew, the more rundown, the more beat up, the better.
“Anything that just looks a little off, it’s not perfect — that’s what I want to capture,” she said. “Who wants to take a picture of a house that’s perfect and pristine?”
Burns said she tries to explore the otherwise...

Sheryl Burns has been awarded Sterling Heights Artist of the Month for November. Sheryl's photography will be on display for the entire month of November at Sterling Heights City Hall (lower level) and the Used Book Store inside the Library. A native and current resident of Sterling Heights, Sheryl seeks out perfect, and sometimes not-so-perfect, Michigan landscapes and landmarks. Her incredible eye for detail leaves you feeling like you were present for the shot. The official kick-off of the exhibit is on Election Day, and it will remain up for the entire month of November. Feel free to stop by and enjoy the wonders of Michigan!
